March 23,1940 | On March 23,1940 the Pakistan Resolution was passed at Lahore. It was moved by A.K Fazal-ul Haq of Bangal. This resolution is also known as "Lahore Resolution". 23rd of March is also celebrated as "Pakistan Day" every year. |
March 23, 1956 | On March 23, 1956 the first constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was announced. |
August 14, 1947 | On August 14, 1947 Pakistan became an independent state. |
January 10, 1966 | On January 10, 1966 Tashkent Declaration was signed at Tashkent, Uzbekistan, between Pakistan and India. The Declaration provide for bringing back the armed forces to pre August 5, 1965 position. It was signed by the president of Pakistan Muhammad Ayub Khan and the Prime Minister of India Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri. |
December 3, 1971 | On December 3, 1971 third war between Pakistan and India began which continued until December 16, 1971. |

June 20, 1980 | On June 20, 1980 Zakat Ordinance was enforced in Pakistan. |
July 3 1972 | Only July 3 1972 the Simla Agrement was signed by the President of Pakistan Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and India Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi at Simla in India. |
September 6, 1965 | On September 6, 1965 second war between Pakistan and India broke out and it is celebrated every year as Defence of Pakistan Day to pay homage to soldiers of the motherland. |
July 5,1977 | On July 5,1977 Genera Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq took over as the Chief Martial Law administrator by ousting the then Prime Minister Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, in order to save the country of Mr. Bhutto and the Pakistan National Alliance. |
December 19, 1984 | On December 19, 1984 President of Pakistan General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq held a referendum to find the people’s opinion for his next five year term. 97.71 per cent votes out of the total votes cast were in favour of him. |
December 25, 1879 | On December 25, 1879 the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born at Karachi. |
September 11, 1948 | On September 11, 1948 Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah died. |
November 9, 1877 | On November 9, 1877 the national poet of Pakistan Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born at Sialkot. |
April 21, 1938 | On April 21, 1938 Allama Iqbal died. |
October 16, 1951 | On October 16, 1951 the first Prime Minister of Pakistan Khan Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated at Rawalpindi, during a public meeting. |
February 25, 1985 | On February 25, 1985 the third general elections for the national Assembly were held in Pakistan under the government of President General Zia-ul-Haq, and on February 28, 1985 election were held for the provincial assemblies, the election were held on non party basis. The turnout of the voters for the National Assembly was 52.93 per cent while it was 56.91 percent for the provincial Assemblies. |
December 30, 1930 | On December 30, 1930, at the Allahabad annual session of the All India Muslim League. Dr Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal in his presidential address presented for the first time the concept of a separate homeland for the Muslims of India. |

March 22 to 24, 1940 | From March 22 to 24, 1940 the 27th annual meeting of the all India Muslim League held in Lahore in which Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah delivered his presidential address and the Pakistan resolution was adopted on March 23. |
April 14, 1988 | On April 14, 1988 the UN mediated Geneva Accord on Afghanistan was signed between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The United States (US) and the Soviet Union signed the accord as guarantors. According to the Geneva Accord, the Soviet Union will withdraw its 115, 00 troops from Afghanistan within 9 months by August 15, 1988 and facilitate return of the Afghan refuees to their homes, in order to make an end to the 9 year old Soviet aggression in Afghanistan. The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan on December27, 1979. |
March 7 1949, | On March 7 1949, the objectives resolution was moved by the Prime Minister Khan Liaquat Ali Khan in the Constituent Assembly. The main ideas, on which the Constitution of Pakistan was based are proclaimed in the objectives resolution. |

October 24, 1990 | Elections to the National Assembly were held while on October 27, 1990, election to the Provincial Assemblies were held. |
